Being aware of how each word can affect the meaning of a story, a sentence or a thought is to be able to value the power of words and how to be exact about what you want to communitcate, to think or to feel.
Take a look at these examples. Ask yourself the questions after you read.

Who was in control from the beginning?

Many short stories
have a twist, or unexpected ending:)
Why do you think he

What pain did the man feel at the end of the story?
