Short Stories for Writing Workshops

Here are some of the additional short stories that we may look at this year for either 8th or 9th grade study.              

We will use them to  analyse and practise character, plot, foreshadowing, alliteration and other literary (reading and writing) devices during the year.    

 

Fatal Decision
 
John is all alone in the world. The annoying routine that is his job has been lost and with it, all hope of a future. A man distant from everyone and everything he decides that there is only one decision to make, that is until he meets a beautiful woman who helps him to see and feel again. But is it too late for John?

The Best Laid Plans

He needs her. He prepares a romantic night just for them.                   But something goes wrong. Now he has only his own memories of a better, more controlled life.                                                                               What will he do?  Will he continue with this love affair?
