How Can I Start?              : Using Objects

While watching ask yourself the following questions:
  • Why is the man there?
  • Does he look like he should be there? Why? Why not?
  • Who is this man?
  • How is he feeling?

Write what happens next...150 words.

Write in the 1st person to conclude this story.

While watching ask yourself the following questions:
  • Where is this man going to in such a hurry?
  • What kind of emergency could make him leave his car and start running?
  • How is he feeling?

Write in the 1st person to conclude this story. Will they be happy together?

Draw 3 objects in the centre of your page.  Give each one a title. Give each drawing detail and colour.
Examples of objects
  • A Watch
  • A Whistle
  • A Ladder

Image how these objects could appear in a story.                     How could they be important for the character/plot?

Write a story that uses all of the objects that you have drawn.

Read the text  below as an example of this process, then watch this movie clip. Can you see the 3 objects?

Answer the questions to help form some   ideas about a story.

The air is still for once as the silence weighs down...each with our own time now....seconds are left....I hold time in my hand and watch the seconds slip passed...whistle clenched in my teeth...men ready...as ready as they can be.....What lies ahead of us, up there, above the safey of the trench?

'5 seconds gentlemen!'

I get ready to blow the whistle to signal the advance. Foot on the ladder.
